Articles 15 and 16 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and the Council of 23 October 2018 apply to the processing of personal data carried out by the European Parliament.
This privacy statement refers to keeping in touch and / or giving your feedback.
1. What is the legal basis for the processing, what data is processed and what is the purpose of processing your personal data?
The tick boxes correspond to different voluntary agreements. Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes.
In the Mandatory box, for sending you information about news, events and visiting in order to keep in touch with the European Parliament; In the Mandatory box, for giving feedback regarding your visit.
Your consent is the legal basis for the processing of your data for the above purposes.
By choosing either of the above purposes, the following personal data will be processed: first name, last name, email, country, preferred language, nationality and age range.
2. Who processes your personal data?
The European Parliament’s Directorate General of Communication, acts as the controller, which is the authority, agency or other body that determines the purposes and means of personal data processing. The controller is represented by the Visitors Services Coordination Unit. You can contact the controller at vscu@europarl.europa.eu.
3. How long will your personal data be stored for and how will your personal data be processed?
How long your data is stored in the European Parliament’s database is based on which purposes you consent to. Personal data will be stored no longer than necessary for the purposes for which they were collected.
Purpose 1 - to keep in touch with the European Parliament regarding news, events and visiting: your personal data will be kept until you unsubscribe from our database (CoManSys);
Purpose 2 - to give feedback on your visit: your personal data will only be used to send you an email to access the feedback form.
For purpose 1: you are able to update or remove your data from our database by sending us an email to vscu@europarl.europa.eu or by clicking on the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of each newsletter or communication received from the Visitor Services Coordination Unit.
For purpose 2: we will contact you once to send you the feeback form and your data will be deleted after the feedback form is sent out.
4. Will your personal data be shared with a non-EU country or international organisation?
Your personal data will not be shared with any services based in non-EU countries or with any international organisations.
No automated processes and/or profiling will be used to make decisions that could affect you.
5. What rights do you have?
You have the right to access, rectify, update, erase your personal data; to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw your consent, to contact the European Parliament data protection officer (data-protection@europarl.europa.eu) and lodge a complaint with the European Data Protection Supervisor at edps@edps.europa.eu.
